Dude, Where's My Cookie?

Finding your magic cookie needn't be difficult. Take two minutes and follow these five or six steps:

  1. If you use a browser that allows cross-site cookies such as Chrome or Edge, open Vort. Otherwise go to battleofthebits.com.
  2. On that webpage, open your browser's DevTools menu.
    • Press F12, Ctrl+Shift+I or Right-click ⟶ Inspect.
      After right-clicking the page, Inspect is often found at the bottom of the context menu.
  3. Inside the new DevTools pane that just opened up, click the Application tab. Some browsers have a Storage tab instead; click that.
    Chromium-based browsers: There are many tabs such as Elements, Console and Sources. Click the one that says Application. Firefox: Click the tab that says Storage.
  4. Expand Cookies by clicking the arrow (▶) left of it.
    Chromium-based browsers: Cookies is located under Storage in the left pane.
  5. Select https://emtries.com if you're on Vort, otherwise select https://battleofthebits.com.
  6. Collect your cookies!
    1. Look at the table of cookies that opened on the right.
      The cookies table has many columns. The first two are Name and Value. There should be three rows containing your information: user_id, serial and botbr_id.
    2. Find cookies with these names:
      • user_id
      • serial
      • botbr_id
    3. Copy their values into your You fields.
